This week we have Thelma as our pet of the week. She is a spayed, female Shih-Tzu/Terrier mix, approximately 5-7 years of age and weighs in at 19lbs bodyweight. Thelma is very friendly but would be best suited in a household with no other dogs or cats. She is crate trained and loves to take long walks on a leash. Thelma is Heartworm positive and is recovering from a life-saving bladder surgery. All dogs up for adoption are spayed or neutered and are up-to-date on distemper/parvo, kennel cough and rabies vaccinations. Thelma and many other dogs and cats may be seen at the SCHS shelter Tuesday evenings 5-7 p.m. or at the SCHS Open House, this Saturday, Nov. 7th from 1-3:00 p.m. Anyone having questions about adoptions or volunteering at the shelter may call 217-322-2220 or e-mail us at www.schuylerhs.com. The public is invited to the SCHS Open house this Saturday (11/7), celebrating the first anniversary of the opening of the animal shelter.
We are always thankful for anything you can donate. Food, litter, paper towels, bowls, leashes, collars and any spare few dollars.
We need your help and time. Our goal is to give our sheltered pets a quality life while staying at the shelter. Volunteers are needed to walk, socialize, feed, clean cages, bath pets and many other little tasks.
